My Amnioscentesis Experience
Pregnancy is a wonderful journey. I must admit up until I saw my baby's scan and heard its heart beat. The news had not really sunk inn! After our first scan, a blood test was soon carried out following the consent my husband and I gave the hospital.
This blood test was to check for various things and also the risk of any genetic defects. Which brings us to why I wrote this article following my Youtube vlog.
This video was made because I wanted to let my readers and most importantly my fellow sisters back home in Kenya aware of the tests available to them during pregnancy. I am not 100% certain if this information is given or rather they have to ask the about them. (you can watch the video below)
I personally agreed to this test because I rejected it during my first pregnancy however after becoming a mother, making friends with other mothers I learnt the importance/risks that come along with both invasive tests i.e Amniocentesis & Chronic Villus Sampling.
As we can all agree information is power and this emotional video I recorded mainly to get message across. The results came back normal and I was in great relief as its evident at the moment I recorded the video, I was in complete worry as any other mother would be.
Lets share widely and support our friends/family through all the hurdles of pregnancy. Thanks to everyone who has watched the video so far and left your feedback.
